So Sean and I have been keeping a secret from my family…well I guess it isn’t a secret the opportunity to let them in on it just hasn’t presented itself in the last oh say six years! So what’s the secret? We can make a bomb meal.
This year we hijacked Christmas dinner. We decided that even though my Aunt would host we would cook the meal. And oh my was it a great success!
The day started with Cinnaburst (from Great Harvest) French toast. My family was initially skeptical saying that they don’t like French toast…well let’s just say there wasn’t any left!

Merry Christmas
Then came the main event, turkey and stuffing. Sean started planning the turkey brine a few weeks in advance; testing a number of recipes on chicken (we are sooo sick of chicken). He settled on an Alebrecht Wit beer, salt, onions, orange, lemon, garlic and other goodness followed by my special blend of seasonings under the skin and smoked over oak. OH MY GOSH it was good and I mean good… my sister went back for three helpings!
The turkey was perfectly accented with my rosemary stuffing made from day old rosemary rolls (also from Great Harvest) blended with white bread, onion, garlic, celery, BACON and topped with gravy made from the turkey drippings. As Rachel Ray would say, yumo!
You would think that was all but not when Team Albrecht is on the job. I pulled out the brown sugar and kitchen torch and served up my Crème Brule. I missed Christmas Eve and almost missed church because it took three hours to set but judging by the empty bowls it was soooo worth it! In fact we went home and made some more just for us to enjoy tonight
Thank you to our family for giving us the chance to share our food with you and our new titles, King and Queen of Meat!
